Agriculture in Seychelles is becoming an increasingly important national issue as the country confronts the realities of food and nutrition security, climate change, geopolitical crisis, global pandemic which leads to rising import costs.

Although tourism remains the backbone of the economy, recent global disruptions have exposed how vulnerable island nations – small island developing states (Sids) like Seychelles can be when they depend heavily on imported food.
