Chess tournament celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations

The first Seychelles–Russia Friendship Chess Tournament brought together players from both nations on June 12, at the Seychelles National Library in Victoria, marking Russia Day and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Seychelles and Russia.

Organised by the African Initiative News Agency, the event attracted 20 players, evenly split between Russians and Seychellois, in a celebration of friendship, cultural exchange and sporting excellence.
