Forum highlights justice, democracy and constitutional reform

As part of its annual Constitution Day activities and in line with Seychelles’ 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations, the Judiciary hosted a half-day open dialogue forum on Wednesday at the Palais de Justice, Ile Perseverance. The event brought together members of the legal profession, constitutional entities, and the wider public to reflect on the country’s constitutional journey and future reform priorities.

Held under the theme ‘Justice, Democracy and the Rule of Law in Seychelles: 50 Years of Independence, 33 Years of Constitutionalism’, the forum examined the development of constitutional jurisprudence, identified legislative and institutional gaps, and explored areas for future reform.
