Mangrove mapping establishes baseline for climate resilient parliament project
The staff-led Environmental Policy Implementation Committee (EPIC) of the National Assembly of Seychelles conducted a mangrove mapping exercise on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The activity was carried out in collaboration with Terence Vel and a group of University of Seychelles (UniSey) graduates in Environmental Science. The mapping forms part of a wider feasibility study led by Mr Vel, one of the key outcomes of the project ‘A Climate Resilient Parliament: Raising Awareness and Advocating for the Protection of Mangrove Ecosystems’, spearheaded by EPIC and fully funded under the Seychelles Conservation and Climate Adaptation Trust’s (SeyCCAT) Blue Grants Fund 8.
