First floating solar project nears completion in Providence lagoon

Seychelles’ landmark 5.8 MW floating solar photovoltaic project in the Providence lagoon is steadily advancing, marking a major step in the country’s transition to renewable energy.
Once operational, the floating solar farm will be the nation’s first utility-scale independent power supply, directly supporting the government’s target of generating 15% of energy from renewable sources by 2030.
