Public alert on social media impersonation

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs & the Diaspora has observed that, in recent months, several Facebook profiles and accounts have been created falsely impersonating Minister Barry Faure.

The ministry wishes to inform the public that Minister Faure maintains only one official Facebook page.

Members of the public are therefore advised to exercise caution and avoid engaging with these fraudulent accounts, particularly if they request financial assistance or solicit money under any pretext. The ministry strongly encourages reliance solely on the minister’s official page for authentic information, announcements, and updates.

The ministry appreciates the vigilance and cooperation of the public in helping to prevent the spread of misinformation and online impersonation.
