PUC confirms Land Marine account was settled, says no outstanding liabilities remain
The Public Utilities Corporation has confirmed that Land Marine Ltd has no outstanding liabilities with the utility provider.
This follows the public circulation of a letter issued by the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) to Land Marine Ltd in May 2022, which claimed that the company had an outstanding electricity bill of R25,161,081.67.
In a press release issued yesterday, PUC chief executive Joel Valmont confirmed that the letter was authentic and that the matter had since been resolved through an agreed settlement.
The letter referred to unbilled electricity consumption and demand charges covering the period from March 2017 to December 2021.
