ICS announces appointment of new CEO
The Board of Trustees of the Island Conservation Society (ICS) has announced the retirement of its chief executive, Norman Weber, after six years at the helm, and the appointment of Vania Robert as the organisation's new chief executive.
Mr Weber retires after six years of distinguished service, during which he successfully guided ICS through the unprecedented challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and other global disruptions.
Under his leadership, among many achievements, the organisation established new conservation centres on Platte, Astove and Cosmoledo, oversaw the rebuilding of Cadbury Lodge on Aride Island Nature Reserve, and further strengthened ICS's reputation as one of the leading conservation organisations in the Western Indian Ocean.
