Selwyn Knowles, a household name in the local tennis world

SELWYN KNOWLES is a household name in the local tennis world. We cannot mention him without mentioning tennis. He has, with tremendous enthusiasm and skills, practised the sport under my tutelage, guidance and encouragement, for a very long time since his teenage years.

It all started on the old Mont Fleuri Tennis courts when his tennis talent came to light. He really excelled in this sport to become the island's junior champion and some years later, a senior champion.

His devotion to the sport was reflected through his spontaneous willingness to coach our budding youngsters with a view to developing the sport and making it accessible to one and all, children as well as adults. Since he became the island's best tennis player, he quickly found a place in my team, 'ACES', competing regularly in the Vijay League.
