Vice-President Pillay responds to questions with notice

Vice-President Sebastien Pillay appeared before the National Assembly yesterday morning to respond to a series of questions with notice from members.

Special housing scheme

The first question came from the elected member for St Louis, Hon. Sathya Naidu, presented in his absence by Hon. Gervais Henrie. He asked about the criteria for applicants to benefit from the ‘Special Housing Loan’.

Vice-President Pillay clarified that there is no scheme called the ‘Special Housing Loan’ under the Housing Finance Company (HFC). Instead, there is a ‘Special Housing Scheme’ guided by policy to assist vulnerable members of the community.
