India, Seychelles forge new ties in ocean management
Seychelles and India are deepening their long-standing partnership with a new emphasis on sustainable coastal management, marine science, fisheries, and the blue economy.
A high-level delegation from India’s National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM) in Chennai is currently in Seychelles for a three-day exchange programme. The visit aims to identify practical areas of cooperation and develop a concrete action plan to guide future collaboration.
The initiative builds on discussions between the two countries’ leaders and follows President Patrick Herminie’s visit to the NCSCM earlier this year during his state visit to India. It was subsequently reinforced in talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, where both sides committed to expanding cooperation in ocean and coastal management.
