Explosion on Coast Guard vessel: Two missing, one rescued

The Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF) wishes to inform the media of a maritime incident involving a Seychelles Coast Guard vessel and three crew members.

Patrol Ship Andromache was deployed yesterday morning on a routine tasking to tow an old vessel for scuttling when an explosion occurred during the operation. Of the three crew members on board, one has been rescued, while at the time of going to press, a search was underway for two missing sailors.

The SDF says further details will be released as additional information becomes available.
