Mahé-Praslin crossing takes place today as windsurfers and kitesurfers face the open sea
More than four decades after the first competitors took on the challenge, Seychelles’ traditional open-water crossing returns today, with windsurfers and kitesurfers preparing to battle the south east trade winds on the 44-kilometre journey from Mahé to Praslin.
The traditional Mahé-Praslin crossing takes place today, bringing together local windsurfers and kitesurfers for one of the most demanding events on Seychelles’ sporting calendar.
Organised by the Seychelles Yachting Association, the crossing will see competitors harness the south east trade winds as they attempt to cover approximately 44 kilometres of open water between Mahé and Praslin.
