SPGA boosts coastal monitoring

The Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA) has concluded a week-long capacity-building programme on Scientific and Socio-Economic Monitoring for mangrove, reef and seagrass corridors.

The training, held from August 31 to September 4, 2026, was delivered under the Government of Seychelles–Global Environment Facility–United Nations Development Programme Ridge to Reef (R2R) Project (GOS-GEF-UNDP). Its aim was to strengthen local technical expertise in monitoring, assessing and managing Seychelles’ key coastal and marine ecosystems – mangroves, coral reefs and seagrass habitats.
