Bringing sport and environmental awareness to Roche Caïman
Rain, wet conditions and a competitive field did little to dampen the spirit of the Clean Shores Run, as 34 participants took on a 5-kilometre course in Roche Caïman last Sunday.
Organised by the African Initiative news agency, the community race combined sport with environmental awareness as part of activities marking International Coastal Cleanup Day.
The event was held with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Seychelles and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Among those lining up at the start were Minister for Youth and Sports Kelsey Belle and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Seychelles Kirill Gennadievich Sokolov-Shcherbachev, alongside local runners and members of the diplomatic community.
