Jules Kandasamy retains windsurfing title, Maxime Trambelland kite surfing winner
Praslinois Jules Kandasamy continues to defy expectations in the Mahé-Praslin windsurfing race, successfully defending his title won for the first time last year. The 44km race, along with the kite surfing competition, took place this past Sunday, starting concurrently from inside the Victoria Harbour but however attracting only a few participants.
Kandasamy’s remarkable performance saw him cross the high seas from Mahe to Praslin, specifically in the bay of Indian Ocean Lodge, in a time of 1 hour, 11 minutes 27 seconds (1h11:27), despite the adverse weather condition. This effort marked a slight decrease from his previous winning time of 1 hour, 6 minutes 20 seconds in 2025. He finished ahead of Eros Barallon, who completed the crossing in 1 hour 25 minutes 45.9 seconds (1h25:45.9), and Rio Lewis, who finished in 1 hour, 44 minutes 25 seconds (1h44:25).
