Seychelles and APRM discuss credit ratings, investment and digital governance

Discussions on strengthening Africa’s financial independence, improving governance and harnessing technology for development featured prominently in talks between President Patrick Herminie and the leadership of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

APRM chief executive Marie Antoinette Rose Quatre briefed President Herminie on preparations for the official launch of the Africa Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA), which is expected to take place on October 7 in Mauritius.

She explained that the initiative is being developed as an independent, private-sector-driven entity aimed at providing an African perspective on the assessment of sovereign and corporate creditworthiness.
