Seychelles invests in officials behind motorsport
As Seychelles continues to strengthen its presence in international motorsport, Autosport Seychelles is placing equal emphasis on developing the people who work behind the scenes to make the sport possible.
Two local motorsport officials, Neil Port Louis and Imran Morgan, are preparing to travel overseas for FIA-funded international marshal training, marking another important step in the development of Seychelles’ motorsport officials and volunteers.
The two officials were formally presented and sent off during Autosport Seychelles’ Seychelles Rising event at Champions Park Raceway recently.
The ceremony was attended by the chief executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) Mario Pragassen, Yakub Gafoor of Penlac, sponsors and supporters of Autosport Seychelles, as well as members, drivers, officials, volunteers and parents.
Their international training was one of three major milestones celebrated during the event.
The occasion also marked the send-off of Seychelles’ first karting drivers to international competition in Angola and the launch of 12 new karts secured through the FIA President’s Development Fund.
