President Herminie officially launching work on the new reclamation project

Seychelles yesterday officially launched a major land reclamation project that will create 550,000 square metres of new land on Mahé for housing, infrastructure and economic development, with works expected to be completed by mid-2027.
The project, the fourth to be undertaken under the East Coast Project (ECP) umbrella since 1985, was launched by President Patrick Herminie during a special ceremony held yesterday at Île Aurore.
Present were Vice-President Sebastien Pillay, ministers, members of the National Assembly, senior government officials, representatives of the business community, other distinguished guests and schoolchildren.
