COVID-19 outbreak SFF joins fight against the coronavirus pandemic

The Maison Football has been handed over to the department of health and the rapid response unit of DRDM

Football being one of the most affected sports as a result of the global coronavirus – COVID-19 – crisis, the sport’s local governing body has joined the fight to contain the virus in the country by offering its headquarters as a facility to the authorities who are directly involved in dealing with the pandemic.

The headquarters of the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) or Maison Football as it is most commonly known, has been handed over to the department of health and the rapid response unit of the department of risk and disaster management (DRDM) since Thursday March 19, 2020.

According to the secretary general of the SFF, Georges Bibi, it is normal and lawful to help the authorities in case of an emergency or national disaster, since they were approached regarding possible assistance.

He explained that due to the fact that they have been asked to evacuate the building after the handing over, it is believed that the place will be used as an isolation facility since it is well equipped with individual rooms, all with their own bathroom facilities.

Meanwhile, all the SFF staff will work from home.
