How COVID-19 forces a change in the habits of every human being on this planet |02 April 2020
I posted a question on my social media page and asked my friends to tell me two of their daily habits that changed since COVID-19. The answers received were quite similar which shows that in times of a specific situation, human beings think alike and they kind of act similarly…Enjoy the answers….
For me, from Seychelles, after work, I used to do the house chores before taking a shower now as soon as I enter the house I go directly to the bathroom and secondly I pray more.
Mojan Sami (USA): I don’t go to my favourite cafe on my way to work. I work from home now, so I’m making espresso old school. I used to deepen in the evenings, and now I study the Writings three or four times a day.
Kim Mungly (Mauritius): I am back to my books. I am also cooking for the residents of my shelter Lotus half way home women/children/orphan shelter and trying new recipes together with the residents, before it was the House Mothers who were preparing hot meals for them but one is on holiday and I am loving it, without forgetting those in needs.
Kanchan Singh Nitty (Mauritius): I have more time spent praying and I have more consistent ME time.
Davis Andre (Seychelles): I refrain from touching my face and I pray more.
Shoghi Appadoo (Mauritius): I wash my hands after touching just anything and before eating anything. Praying and meditating on what can be done to help as many people as possible.
Alexi La 1 (Guyana): I got more alcohol in me than I ever had in my life. Besides staying in, I use to clean the house once per week, now it's twice per week, full sweep and mop (pinesol and bleach).
Anne Christine Amadis (Mauritius) : Je fais du télétravail, donc il faut gérer ménage, faire à manger et travailler. Et puis il y a la prière familiale tous les après-midis vers 17h45.
Vanessa Wade (Mauritius): Praying more and being more mindful.
Giannina Estevanovich De Marco (Puerto Rico): I became my kids teacher, helping them with all the work from school (teacher to the little one; secretary and IT assistant to the oldest; and sergeant, time and project manager to the middle one); so I have to cook/prepare food at night, clean in the early mornings (and more often), we wake up later (don’t have to drive to school), but kids go to bed later too, so I’m more tired.
Ellga Esparon Andre (Seychelles): I have become more addicted to social media, local news & international news and basically I am using and charging my phone more in one day; I pray more and yes I wash my hands more which is basically every 5 minutes.
Katrin Modabber (Germany): Rather than just family devotions we now have neighbourhood devotions every night at 7pm.
Vered Jeannie (Seychelles): After work, sanitize upon arrival and then straight for shower.... mind you I need to run away from my kids to avoid hugging before the shower; Pray more and be more involved in community work.
Pamela Monien (Mauritius): Wake up late having more time to spend with my daughter and hubby. We sit together for breakfast, lunch and dinner which were not possible every day. We pray together at night.
