Advisory of extreme spring high tides of 2.1m |08 April 2020

Extreme spring high tides of 2.1m will occur between 4pm and 9pm as from today, Wednesday April 8 to Sunday April 12, 2020 on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.

This is because the moon, sun, and earth are aligned and combined to increase the gravitational force to produce these highest tides during that period.

It coincides with the ‘super moon’ or ‘full moon’ which occurs today.

Mariners and road users along the coast are advised to take necessary precautions.
