Banks and SCU to extend opening hours until 2.30pm |16 April 2020
The Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) has advised all banks and the Seychelles Credit Union (SCU) to extend their opening hours to 2.30pm on all days that their branches are open to the public.
The CBS had previously approved for banking institutions to scale down their week-day operations, dependent on their individual situations, amid new measures announced by the Public Health Authority.
The new decision is to be applicable as from today, Thursday April 16, 2020 until further notice, to give customers sufficient time to access banking services, hence reducing long queues and overcrowding. This will allow for better adherence to guidance issued by the Public Health Authority with regards to social distancing.
As previously announced, all banking institutions will remain closed on Saturdays, until further notice.
The CBS is also advising banks and SCU to continue encouraging their customers to make use of digital means for their financial transactions.
