A special Mother’s Day: Sip and paint class at home |08 May 2020

While mothers will always appreciate a thoughtful gift, we are reminded that it is not about how much money you spend but rather spending quality time with them.

This Mother’s Day on Sunday May 10 will be a special one as we remember the many who have lost their mothers during the pandemic, leaving the rest of us to realise that truly, simply being there for our mothers and spending time with them, is what matters most.

To give you a very special and unique idea of how you can do this on Sunday, Seychelles NATION came up with the idea of a Sip and Paint Class at Home; you and your mum will sip on tea which you’ll make especially for her, and then laugh together while you create a beautiful work of art.

While we acknowledge that drawing and painting is not everyone’s ‘cup of tea’, the paper contacted Chantale Grange to obtain from her a step-by-step process and template that will culminate in a beautiful painting that your mum can keep as a reminder of your time together.

Chantale is a Seychellois artist and creator of ‘The Art Soothe’ Instagram page where she displays her artwork daily, takes part in art challenges and creates hand-painted designs for printing on various products.

Speaking about her chosen template, Chantale tells us that “a beautiful bouquet of flowers is always a lovely gift for Mother’s Day, but sometimes a crafted gift made with the heart can also make for a wonderful present. Below is a step-by-step process of how to create a Mother’s Day flower wreath card. I hope this little tutorial allows you to create something beautiful for Mother’s Day. - round objects (1 big and 1 small)
