In preparation for the upcoming elections, the secretariat the office of the Electoral Commission will as from tomorrow, Wednesday July 22, 2020 open its doors at its new election headquarters at Sacos Tower. Victoria.

The commission has also set up at this location a new temporary registration centre which will also be open as from Wednesday July 22, 2020 and will be taking the following applications from voters of all electoral areas:

• Applications to register from qualified persons,

• Applications for transfer from one electoral area to another from voters who have since changed residence,

• Applications for change of name from voters who have since had a change of name by any legal means,

• Lodging of objections by voters against any person registered in their electoral area who are not residents of that electoral area.

This centre is additional to the Aarti Chambers office and regional centres which will also continue to carry out the usual business of registration, changes and objections. The commission invites all voters who are yet to register to use this opportunity to do so to ensure that they can participate in the upcoming elections.

All voters who have registered up to December 2019 are reminded that they can check their names on the voters’ register by SMS on 9600 or on its website www.ecs.sc.

A credible voter register is the responsibility of all voters in partnership with the Electoral Commission Seychelles.
