Advisory of extreme spring high tides of 1.9m |19 August 2020

Extreme spring high tides of 1.9m will occur between 4pm to 6pm today, Wednesday August 19 to Friday August 21, 2020 on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue as the moon, sun, and Earth are aligned, and combined to increase the gravitational force to produce these highest tides during that period.

It coincides with the New moon which will occur today, Wednesday August 19. Mariners and road users along the coast are advised to take extra precautions.
