High commissioner designate of Rwanda pays courtesy call on Minister Radegonde

The high commissioner designate of the Republic of Rwanda to Seychelles, Gen. Major Charles Karamba, paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde on Monday this week.

HC Karamba was accredited as the fourth HC of the Republic of Rwanda to Seychelles on Tuesday April 27, 2021, before President Wavel Ramkalawan, at State House.

The minister welcomed the HC designate to Seychelles and spoke of the desire to further develop cooperation in the tourism sector with Rwanda including the sharing of

expertise and exchanges of students in tourism establishments in the two respective countries.

“Relations between our two countries are excellent as members of La Francophonie, the

Commonwealth and the African Union. I look forward to working with you during your tenure to further enhance and broaden the relationship between our two countries,” added Minister

On his part, HC Karamba congratulated Minister Radegonde on his new post as minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism. He also highlighted some areas where both parties could collaborate including tourism, fisheries and education.

Also in attendance at the meeting were principal secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr Marina

Confait and senior officers of the Foreign Affairs department.

Seychelles and Rwanda established diplomatic relations in 2006.
