State House adopts new tradition by displaying African Union flag |28 May 2021

The AU flag next to our National flag at State House

In commemoration of Africa Day, celebrated this week on May 25, as a new tradition this year, the Office of the President will officially display the African Union flag at State House at all times alongside the National flag.

Seychelles has been a member of the African Union since 1976.

The AU was established in 2002 as a successor to the Organisation of the African Unity (OAU) which was first founded on May 25, 1963.
