Seychelles Breweries appoints new commercial director

Bertrand Belle

Bertrand Belle will join Seychelles Breweries as commercial director in August this year, the company announced yesterday.

In a press release Seychelles Breweries said it is with great pride that it announces the newest addition to its management team.

Mr Belle started his career in the Ministry of Finance after graduating from university in the UK. He was heavily involved in the macro-economic reforms which started in 2008 and the launch of initiatives across welfare administration, tax revenue forecasting and public private partnerships.

In 2013 Mr Belle left Seychelles to undertake a Masters in Public Administration at the prestigious Harvard University in the US. During his time away he also undertook an internship with the Liberia Revenue Authority and worked with the International Monetary Fund.

Mr Belle returned to Seychelles in late 2015 to work in the Vice-President’s Office shortly before being appointed as Economic Advisor to the President in late 2016.

His work since then has focused on policy matters and as a resource to various ministries and state-owned enterprises.

Conor Neiland, MD for Seychelles Breweries, commented, “We are delighted that Bertrand is joining Seychelles Breweries following his time in the public sector. He will be a great addition to our team and I look forward to him making a huge contribution to our business, both domestically and through export which will become increasingly important to us.”

In 2022 Seychelles Breweries will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The company now employs 145 people, 95% of whom are local Seychellois.

The company is a proud local manufacturer of beers, soft drinks and imports international Premium Spirits including Johnnie Walker Whiskey.
