Air Seychelles’ fate still in the balance |15 June 2021

It is still unsure what the future holds for Air Seychelles as a final decision on the matter is yet to be reached.

Yesterday President Wavel Ramkalawan chaired an extraordinary virtual meeting of the Cabinet at which the future of the national airline was discussed.

Cabinet was briefed on the results of the assessments of Air Seychelles undertaken by World Bank along with its proposed recommendation.

Cabinet was also updated on Air Seychelles’ latest financial performance.

Cabinet discussed the matter in depth and requested that the Minister for Transport set up a working committee comprising representatives from the Ministry of Transport, Employment department, Finance department and Air Seychelles to study the situation further and to submit a final proposal to Cabinet to make a decision.
