80% of hand and surface swabs collected from food establishments in 2023 -2024 failed hygiene tests

In commemoration of World Food Safety Day on June 7, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in collaboration with the Food Control Unit of the Public Health Authority, has released data on the state of food safety in Seychelles.
The findings, drawn from microbiological, chemical, and hygiene analyses of food and food-handling environments during 2023 and 2024, present both reassuring progress and areas of serious concern.
