CBS launches public consultation on proposals for Regulatory Sandbox regulations
The Central Bank of Seychelles is currently working on regulations for a Regulatory Sandbox to support the testing of innovative financial products and services in a controlled and supervised environment.
The development of the Regulatory Sandbox is in response to evolving trends in financial innovation, particularly in areas such as digital payments and financial technology (FinTech).
While such innovations present opportunities to enhance efficiency, competition, and financial inclusion, they may also introduce new risks and regulatory challenges where existing legislative frameworks are not designed to accommodate emerging products and business models.
