8 gold medals for Team Seychelles
The Seychelles judo team represented by three clubs – Grand Anse Praslin, Etoile and Baie Ste Anne – have won a total of 22 medals – eight gold, three silver and 11 bronze – at the Tournoi International de Judo de l’Île Maurice.
The Tournoi International de Judo de l’Île Maurice (TiMau) held at the 1er Février Gymnasium in Roche Bois on Saturday and Sunday, saw the involvement of 300 judokas from Mauritius, Rodrigues, Reunion and Seychelles. A local contingent of 41 judokas took part in the tournament and this medal haul reflects not only the individual talent of the judokas but also the strength of the training programmes and coaching expertise within the three clubs.
