Godfra Hermitte is Seychelles’ 15th police commissioner

Godfra Hermitte was officially sworn in as the new Commissioner of Police at State House yesterday morning before President Patrick Herminie, becoming the 15th person to hold the position.
He took the oath of allegiance to the Constitution and the oath of office.
The ceremony was attended by Vice-President Sebastian Pillay, members of the judiciary – including Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Rony Govinden, and president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Anthony Francis Tissa Fernando – as well as senior officials, members of parliament, and Mr Hermitte’s family members.
