International Bee Day 2026: Protecting Seychelles’ precious pollinators
Every year on May 20, the world marks International Bee Day to raise awareness about the vital role bees and other pollinators play in sustaining biodiversity, ensuring food security, and maintaining healthy ecosystems.
This year’s theme, ‘Bee Together for People and the Planet – A partnership that sustains us all’, underscores the enduring relationship between humans and bees – a partnership that supports agriculture, livelihoods, nutrition, and culture worldwide.

The Beekeepers Association of Seychelles continues to lead efforts in promoting responsible beekeeping, supporting local apiarists, and protecting the nation’s fragile honey bee population.
