Assomption Island inquiry report handed to President |13 June 2026

Yesterday morning, the President of the Republic, Dr Patrick Herminie, officially received the final report of the Commission of Inquiry into the sublease and development of Assomption Island. The handover took place at State House, where Commissioner Judge Mathilda Twomey presented the document marking the culmination of six months of intensive work.
The Commission was mandated to examine various aspects of the controversial development project on the remote outer island.
