‘Innovation key to Seychelles’ food future,’ says minister

“As we join the international community in commemorating World Food Day on October 16, 2026, I extend warm greetings to all Seychellois, particularly our farmers, fishers, food producers, agricultural entrepreneurs, researchers, and all those who contribute to feeding our nation.

“This year marks the 46th observance of World Food Day worldwide, an important occasion that brings countries and communities together to reflect on the fundamental role of food in our lives and to renew our collective commitment to building sustainable and resilient agrifood systems. The celebration also recognises the work of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), which marks its 81st anniversary this year.
