Kindness and Compassion Foundation donates to health |11 April 2022
The Kindness and Compassion Foundation has donated a television and R10,000 to the Ministry of Health in commemoration of the World Health Day last week.
The 42” Sharp TV and the money will go towards embellishing the mental health unit that will be set up for the child and adolescent at the Wellness Clinic at Anse Royale.
It was the chairperson of the foundation, Beryl Dodin, and sponsorship partners who handed over the donation to Dr Lisa Kissubi, senior medical officer, mental health, in a short ceremony held at the Seychelles Hospital.
In her opening remarks, the secretary to the foundation, Dr Vanessa Lesperance, said that they, along with their partners, have seen it appropriate in this time of celebration of World Health Day, to join hands to support the care and attention for the child and adolescent that will be delivered at the unit. She thanked the health workers for their noble work and urged them to continue to show the love, kindness and compassion for the betterment of the health of the society.
On behalf of the Ministry, Aubrey Pharla, development psychologist for children and adolescent, said that the donation will be of great use in making the unit a child and adolescent friendly facility.
He thanked the Kindness and Compassion Foundation and its partners for their generous gesture and for caring about the mental health of the child and adolescent.
