4,696 applications for April processed
A total of 4,696 applications for the month of April under the Financial Assistance for Job Retention scheme have been processed and payment has already been made to 3,080 applicants for the month of April and 2,553 for the month of May.
Despite a six-working day extension, work to process the large volume of applications under the Financial Assistance for Job Retention (FA4JR)scheme has gone beyond the May 25 deadline set by the Ministry of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning.
By last night, the FA4JR committee had successfully processed 4,696 of the 4,746 applications received for the month of April.
A sum of R257,787,484.51 has been paid out already – R135,859,131.80 for the month of April and R121,928,352.71 for the month of May.
Employers and self-employed individuals whose applications have been rejected can lodge an appeal.
A report detailing all the applicants who benefitted from the assistance and how much they benefitted, for the month of April, is expected to be remitted to the National Assembly and will also be published.
