Air Seychelles increases domestic flight prices

Air Seychelles’ domestic flight prices will increase as of today

Domestic flights between the two main islands Mahé and Praslin are expected to increase as Air Seychelles announces a R70 hike for Seychellois and gainful occupation permit (GOP) holders.

Effective as of today, October 15, the R70 increase on Air Seychelles’ fuel surcharge for domestic flights is being attributed to the “continuing increase in global oil prices”.

Air Seychelles noted that the global oil price is now at a seven-year high.

It will henceforth cost an additional R70 for a one way ticket, and R140 for two-way tickets.

The difference in the fare is only applicable to tickets booked as of today and is not applicable on confirmed tickets booked before October 15, 2021 for travel at a later date.

The local airline company is undergoing a number of financial and legal struggles, and was placed under administration earlier this month as foreign bond holders call for the winding down of Air Seychelles.
