Alex Bistoé passes away

Former footballer Alex Bistoé was laid to rest yesterday after he passed away on Friday December 10, 2021.

Born on March 19, 1978, Bistoé played as a central midfielder and was seen as one of Seychelles’ promising stars.

He was a member of the Seychelles under-17 team who won the gold medal of the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI) football competition played in Madagascar in 1995 alongside players like Richard ‘Jahrimba’ Marimba, Winsley Joubert and Jeffery Thomas.

The team was coached by Jeris César.

At senior level, Bistoé played for St Louis in the early 2000 and since he started gaining success, his younger brothers ‒ Jean and Eddie ‒ followed in his footsteps and they both earned their place in the St Louis squad before moving to other teams.

Bistoé also played for Plaisance.

He leaves behind his three children, girlfriend, brothers, sister, father, mother, aunties and uncles.
