Drifters, Anse Etoile Stars, AB Boys lead standings

 

Anse Boileau-based Drifters and Anse Etoile Stars are presently leading the tables of the men’s division one and women’s league, while AB Boys are on top of the men’s division two rankings half-way through the first leg of the national league.

In the men’s division one competition, Drifters are on top on seven points following three wins and one defeat out of four matches.

Their only defeat so far was on a 50-86 score at the hands of Beau Vallon Heat who are presently second on six points and still unbeaten after three matches.

PLS Hawks are third on four points after two wins and one defeat out of three matches, similar to fourth-placed Premium Cobras and Mont Fleuri Dawgz who are in fifth position.

Out of the three teams, PLS Hawks boast a superior basket difference, after scoring 223 and conceding 177, compared to Premium Cobras’ 181 for and 189 against.

Mont Fleuri Dawgz on the other hand have scored 157, while conceding 211.

Bel Air-based Baya are presently sixth on the table on three points from a win and a defeat out of two matches, ahead of tailenders and still win-less MBU Rockers who have collected two points after two defeats in as many matches.

In the women’s league, Anse Etoile Stars are the present leaders on maximum four points following two wins in as many matches, ahead of second-placed B Challenge who have the same statistic, but an inferior basket difference.

Leaders Anse Etoile Stars have 125 baskets for and 65 against, compared to B Challenge who have scored 83 and conceded 69.

HotShots are presently third in the league on two points following two defeats out of two matches, with identical statistics to fourth-placed Mont Fleuri.

Both teams have a basket difference of -37, with Hotshots having scored 68 baskets and conceding 105, while Mont Fleuri have 66 baskets for and 103 against.

In the men’s division two league being contested by 10 teams, unbeaten AB Boys are presently leading with eight points from four wins in as many matches; similar to second-placed Cascade Bullets who have an inferior basket difference of 120 (302 for and 182 against). AB Boys boast a superior basket difference of 182 (356 for and 174 against).

Anse Royale and St Louis Saints are presently third and fourth in the league respectively, with both on seven points from three wins and a defeat out of four matches, with the former having a superior basket difference (181 for and 172 against), compared to the latter’s 191 for and 229 against

Anse Etoile are fifth on five points from two victories and one defeat out of three matches, ahead of sixth-placed PLS Suns who are also on five points after winning only a single match out of four played.

Seventh-placed Baba also share the same matches and points tally, but are behind due to an inferior basket difference (171 for and 232 against), compared to PLS Suns’ 229 basket scored and 216 conceded.

MBU Boys are presently eighth in the overall ranking on five points, after failing to grab a single victory in five matches played.

In ninth position on four points are Praslin Boys who have managed a win and two defeats out three matches, while winless Mont Fleuri Ballerz tail the league table on three points after three defeats in as many matches.
