Yellow alert issued following bad weather late yesterday afternoon |06 January 2023
The Seychelles Meteorological Authority issued a yellow alert at 1700hrs yesterday announcing moderate to heavy showers on Mahé, and the inner and outer islands.
The bad weather warning stated that heavy rain was expected to flooding especially in low lying areas as well as potential of landslide.
The authority advised the public to be aware of poor visibility especially in mountainous areas and to take necessary precaution.
It warned that showers were expected for the following twelve to 24 hours.
The validity of the yellow alert was for until 0600hrs today.
