Seychelles heads to world’s leading trade fair in Berlin

Minister Radegonde will lead Seychelles delegation at ITB Berlin

Seychelles will be represented next week at the world’s largest and leading travel trade show, ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse), by a strong delegation headed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde, from March 7-9, 2023.

The delegation will also comprise the director general for destination marketing at Tourism Seychelles, Bernadette Willemin; Tourism Seychelles representative in the Germany office Christian Zerbian; and senior officers from Tourism Seychelles headquarters, Dominique Sabino and Lizanne Moncherry.

The Tourism Seychelles delegation will be joined by representatives of the local travel trade, including representatives from Creole Travel Services, 7° South, Mason’s Travel (PTY) LTD, STORY Seychelles, Anantara Maia Seychelles, Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, Blue Safari Seychelles (Alphonse Resort), Savoy Resort & Spa, Hilton Seychelles Resort & Spa, Paradise Sun, Laila – A Tribute Portfolio Resort, Luxe Voyage (LV Holidays), Kempinski Seychelles Resort, VPM Yacht Charter and Story Seychelles & Fisherman's Cove Resort.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mrs Willemin stressed the importance of the destination’s participation at these key marketing events to keep Seychelles in the limelight by showcasing the country’s natural wonders and top-tier services and products.

“Germany is part of the top ten markets for Seychelles. Our participation in the ITB aims to reinforce our presence on the market to ensure we keep up the momentum. We are conscious of two elements: on the one hand, the purchasing power of our potential visitors is decreasing every day, impacted by inflation worldwide, and secondly, our competitors around the world remain fierce. We need to strike while the iron is hot. Our aim for the coming days would be to strengthen our trade relationship with our partners on the market, build new partnerships, and continuously find ways to remain relevant on the market,” said Mrs Willemin.

During the three-day event, participants will have the opportunity to hold business-to-business meetings with international buyers while engaging with potential buyers.
