Voice of Africa hits the airwaves |27 March 2023

The Voice of Africa, featuring eight singing talents from Seychelles, hit the airwaves last night and was broadcast on SBC 1 for local viewers.

The competition, an initiative of Airtel Africa and Airtel Seychelles, launched in October last year, features participants from 13 African countries, and the popular music and entertainment show airs in over 180 countries worldwide.

The participants are presently in Nigeria where recording for the competition is taking place.

Seychelles’ talents are competing against talents from thirteen other countries, namely Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Madagascar, Congo Brazzaville, Chad, Rwanda, DRC, Niger, Nigeria and Gabon. Seychelles and kenya are the only two with eight contestants, while the other countries each have seven.

In a statement on Saturday at Airtel House, the brand and marketing communications manager at Airtel Seychelles, Jude Valmont, said the Seychelles participants were safe and sound and everything was going smoothly.

He has urged locals to support them and to follow the competition on SBC 1, or Airtel TV which is free of charge.

He also said people can download the Airtel TV app on their phone and watch the local talents battle it out on the continent.

‘We had taken a pause after announcing that we had chosen the eight participants in January as we wanted to ensure all the logistics were correct and I can confirm that everything is now running smoothly. I urge you to throw your support behind our talents,” he urged.

The Voice of Africa will be streamed on Sundays at 7pm.
