Paolo Payet: Championing Seychelles’ musical heritage

At just 23, Seychellois musician Paolo Payet has already transformed his passion for music into a career, performing regularly at gigs while collaborating with established artists both in Seychelles and abroad.

Born and raised in Seychelles, and now residing in Quincy, Paolo completed his secondary education before graduating from the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) with a certificate in tourism and tour guiding. He worked for six months at Creole Travel Services before deciding to pursue music full-time.

“I realised that music was my calling. After working for six months at Creole Travel Services, I decided to follow what I was passionate about, and since then I have been making a living from music,” Paolo said.
