Fault in network causes power outage in parts of central and northern Mahé |23 September 2023
The Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) said that a fault in the electricity network providing supply to parts of central and northern Mahé was the reason for a power outage in those regions yesterday.
This occurred at around 6.15am and the areas affected included Union Vale, Mont Buxton, Belonie and part of Beau Vallon.
PUC said that the cause of the outage was beyond its control.
Following the outage, PUC teams were immediately dispatched to investigate the reason for loss of supply, and to restore power to the affected areas. Supply was gradually restored between Union Vale and Roche Bois by 9.40am, and between Roche Bois and Beau Vallon by 11.30am.
