Hilton Seychelles’ ‘Travel with Purpose’ initiative lights up Foyer de Nazareth |10 October 2023
Hilton Seychelles, committed to its ‘Travel with Purpose’ initiative, made a significant impact on the Foyer de Nazareth during a clean-up and maintenance day on Saturday.
Speaking to Seychelles NATION, Andre Borg, the general manager of Hilton Seychelles, elaborated on the global objective of reducing carbon dioxide emissions across all Hilton properties by 2030.
“That is our global goal, but every year, we undertake initiatives within our communities, offering our time to support those in need.”
The driving force behind these community initiatives is Hilton's Blue Energy Committee – a dedicated team responsible for organising and executing community activities. With a deep understanding of local needs and opportunities, they chose Foyer de Nazareth as the focus of their recent efforts.
Saturday’s tasks included a fresh coat of paint and electrical work, and general clean-up in and around the residence.
The day concluded with a delightful barbecue for the children, ensuring a memorable experience for all.
When questioned about challenges faced during the project, Mr Borg replied with enthusiasm, “Absolutely not, it was a very good environment, we were welcomed, and the team brought a lot of motivation and self-happiness. It is a wonderful feeling to lend a helping hand to those in need.”
Mr Borg expressed Hilton's commitment to maintaining a long-term relationship with Foyer de Nazareth facility and continuing support throughout the year.
Hilton's philosophy, found across its presence in over 450 countries, emphasises connecting with local communities.
“This is Seychelles, and today, we have four different properties participating in similar initiatives across four different locations.”
Looking ahead, Mr Borg mentioned Hilton's plans for the upcoming Christmas season, promising a surge of community involvement and goodwill during that festive time.
