Exchange of gifts

Rotary District Governor, Luderce Camalon, who is presently on a five-day visit to Seychelles, yesterday called on Vice-President Ahmed Afif at State House for discussion.

Speaking to the local media, DG Camalon, who was leading a six-member delegation, said the meeting focused on the various projects currently being undertaken by Rotary clubs worldwide, with special focus in Seychelles, which has two clubs, and one dedicated to young people.

“These clubs work throughout the year to assist the population in need,” he said.

DG Calamon has expressed satisfaction with his visit so far, which involved visits to schools where he took part in tree-planting exercise. “My aim is to plant a thousand trees in each Indian ocean island,” said the district governor, who oversees clubs from Mauritius, Seychelles and Reunion island. On Monday he took part in tree-planting at the Perseverance North primary school.
