Electoral Commission’s announcement on overseas voting:

‘A win for democracy, but a deep blow to transparency and trust’ – MLS

“Mouvman Lavwa Seselwa (MLS) acknowledges the Electoral Commission’s announcement (yesterday) that the Cabinet’s proposal for overseas voting will not be implemented for the 2025 general elections. “We welcome this outcome as a clear victory for democracy and a direct result of public and political pressure, including from opposition parties and civil society.

“However, while the decision itself is just, the process that led to it remains deeply problematic and today’s events only deepen our concerns. This morning, a petition signed by all opposition parties was formally delivered to the Electoral Commission by our secretary general.
